INTERACTION

  • To what extent was I able to put the last lesson into practice?
  • What challenges me?
  • Who did I tell about Jesus?

STUDY

Goal: You learn to talk to God and pray effectively. You make it a habit to pray every day.

Why we talk to God:

📖 Psalm 116:1-2

Jesus explains to his disciples how they should pray. He gives us a "model" of how we can pray.

 📖 Matthew 6:5-15

  • Discuss the individual sections of the "Lord's Prayer" and why Jesus probably said it this way.
  • Pray together in your own words using this model of prayer. Start talking to Jesus as if he were sitting next to you. Prayer is a personal conversation between you and him, in which you discuss things with him and lay out your concerns before him.

Communication means we talk to God:

📖 Philippians 4,6-7

Communication means God speaks to us and we listen to him:

📖 Isaiah 50,4

God speaks to us in many different ways. Here is a list of some of them. Tell each other where you have experienced God speaking.

  • Through the Bible
  • Through sermons
  • Through inner images
  • Through thoughts
  • Through dreams
  • Through friends
  • Through circumstances
  • Through nature
  • Through art

What might be the way God most often uses to speak to you?

Prayers out of faith make a difference:

📖 James 5:14-18

Question:

  • What habit related to prayer would you like to adopt?

ACTION STEP

  • What are you actually implementing?
  • What Bible verse or biblical principle are you memorizing?
  • To whom can you pass on what you have learned?

  • When is the next time we meet?
